Hi Charles,

First of all, my apologies for the delay. A few weeks ago, I was confronted with a major theft of equipment, and dealing with the insurance and getting everything back in order has unfortunately taken up far too much time.

To give you an impression of my work, I’ve created this page for you (the new portfolio website will be live shortly), including links to two short docs I produced for the Dutch Foundation for the Hard of Hearing and Deafened. These were first published online in Dutch and later translated into German, French, and English. Altogether, there are five short interview docs, which have reached a total of 2.7 million viewers.

I’m also including a teaser of a new project I recently started. In collaboration with an author, I am producing a documentary about the Amsterdam-based bank Lippmann, Rosenthal & Co. During World War II, this bank was designated by the occupying forces as the place where the Jewish population of Amsterdam was forced to deposit their financial assets and valuables. Most of them, during the years 1940–45, were eventually deported.

Filming will begin within the coming months and, as you’ll see in the teaser, will also take place in Paris, Nancy, Strasbourg, and Frankfurt. The film will conclude back in Amsterdam.
This teaser is intended to support fundraising for the full project, so I kindly ask you to keep it strictly to yourself for now.

I hope that by sharing this, I can give you confidence to consider contributing to the documentary. Annika lives in Amsterdam, and I am based in Leidschendam, near The Hague, where the Dutch government resides.

I’d be glad to hear whether you’d like to make use of my work, and if so, under what terms. Of course, you can always call me. Please just keep in mind the time difference of about 8 hours: if you call in your morning, it’s already well into the afternoon here.

You can also reach me by email at: job@d-signs.nl (tel 0031 653 93 4837)

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Cheers,

Job Hendriks
